🚗 Cumberland Ride Share Driver Support Program

Get on the road. Get support. Drive your future.

The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is offering financial assistance for local residents who are driving—or want to drive for Uber, Lyft, or another ride share platform.

This is a limited-time opportunity to get reimbursed for startup and ongoing costs. Whether you're just getting started or looking to supplement your income, we’re here to help.

✅ What You Get

If approved, you could receive up to $1,130 in total support, including:

🚘 Up to $500 in mileage reimbursement ($0.70 per mile)
🧾 reimbursed for vehicle inspections (up to $80)
🧰 Car accessories (phone mount, charger, dash cam—up to $150)
🛡️ Insurance support (up to $400)

👤 Who Can Apply?

You may be eligible if you:

Live in Cumberland, Maryland
Are approved or pending approval with Uber or Lyft
Have access to a vehicle that meets platform standards
Are willing to drive at least 60 hours per month in the city (logged in to the app, even if no rides are given)

🗓 Program Timeline

Applications Open: November 1, 2025
Deadline to Apply: April 15, 2026
First Come, First Served: 10 drivers will be accepted

📋 What You’ll Need

To apply, you’ll be asked to provide:

A valid Maryland driver’s license
Proof of vehicle registration and insurance
Rideshare driver approval or onboarding status
Basic availability and income info (for compliance)
